CRAWFORD MULHOLLAND, BELFAST
‘The project involved incorporating 5 no. private offices, 2 no. 2 person acoustic pods and a conference room within a deep, single aspect floor plan. The simple concept of providing a central circulation route along with glazed doors and partitions ensures that the space feels light and open with each cellular workspace having a visual connection to the external.
Further accommodation includes a client welcome area, a 6 person open plan office, staff tea point and welfare facilities. Exposing the concrete slab increases the volume of the workspace which is acoustically controlled through the introduction of felt wall cladding. The co-ordinated mechanical and electrical installation, along with metal ceiling rafts and vines denotes the different workspaces below.
The materials palette takes inspiration from Crawford Mulholland’s corporate colours (black and yellow) and is enhanced through the introduction of natural timber, raw concrete and planting.’ Christopher Quinn, MOR Architects
